What is TAP (Transit Access Pass)?
TAP cards are durable plastic cards that eliminate the hassle of paper passes, and are easy to use. You can purchase and load transit passes or load stored value (aka “cash”) on the TAP card. ┬áIt contains an electronic chip for storing information such as the type of pass or how much stored value you have loaded on your card. After you load a pass or stored value, you simply tap your TAP card on an LBT mobile validator on the left-hand side as you board an LBT bus.

Where can you use a TAP card?
TAP cards can be used, with the proper electronic pass, on all LBT buses and are valid with many other transit agencies in Los Angeles County, including Metro TAP-enabled transit systems

Where can you load a pass or Stored Value onto a TAP card?
LBT passes can be purchased online at https://www.taptogo.net/TAPLocator, over the phone at 866-TAPTOGO, in-person at LBT’s Transit and Visitor Information Center at 130 Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach, or at a participating vendor. Visit lbtransit.com or call our transit advisors at (562) 591-2301 for locations around town.
